KINDERGARTEN: BIG FIRST STEP
Whether your child has remained at home until now or attend preschool/daycare, they will be loved and welcomed into our Kindergarten family of friends. Our experienced faculty and staff will work with your child to help them feel appropriately challenged each day, and supported as needed. Parents are welcome to be involved in our school through volunteering, during special events, classroom parties, and more.
Kindergarteners must be 5 by September 1. If you’re considering PreKindergarten because of your child’s birthday or readiness signals, you might want to check out this parent’s perspective which talks about the practice of “academic red shirting.” We are happy to talk with you to discuss any questions or concerns you may have.
READING UNLOCKS LEARNING
Our reading initiative is designed to help students master the art of reading, so they’ll be well-prepared for learning later on. We dedicate 90-120 minutes of uninterrupted instruction to literacy each day. To learn more about this research-based approach, please visit the Reading area of our website.
WHERE FAITH COMES TO LIFE
Weekly Mass is celebrated each week. Each class takes turns planning the liturgy and participating in different aspects of Mass, from lectoring to holding Psalm placards. Parents and grandparents and other special friends are welcome!
FIFTH GRADE BAND
All fifth graders are enrolled in Band and attend class three times a week under the instruction of Mr. Charles Taylor. Students begin with recorders during the first semester and transition to musical instruments second semester. You will be amazed at their concert at the Festival of Arts in May!
