Choir

Whatever you do, do everything for the Glory of God. – I Cor 10:31

Our choral program has grown substantially over the last five years and continues to strive for excellence in the pursuit of glorifying God through song.

Recent achievements include a rating of Superior at the District Choral Festival and participation in the State level competition at Central Michigan University. The high school choir has traveled and performed in other states, and has had the opportunity to perform with local and national artists.

IMMACULATE CONCEPTION ELEMENTARY

  • Choir is offered for grades 3-5. The Immaculate Conception Elementary Choir not only provides music for Mass, students also perform in the annual Festival of the Arts.

ST. ELIZABETH ANN SETON MIDDLE SCHOOL

  • Students are encouraged to sing at Mass as well as the All System Mass. They perform at the Advent concert and at the spring Festival of the Arts. Solo opportunities are also available during events such as the annual talent show.

ST. FRANCIS HIGH SCHOOL SCHOOL

At the high school level, five chorale options are offered:
  • Men’s Ensemble –  Members of this group explore music written specifically for the male voice as well as have the opportunity to participate in our mixed ensemble, Dei Cantanti
  • Women’s Ensemble – Like the men’s ensemble, this group participates in a wonderful array of literature designed for the female voice.  Qualifying members can participate in Dei Cantanti
  • Dei Cantanti (Translation: God’s Singers) – A mixed ensemble consisting of members of our select ensemble and qualified men’s and women’s ensemble members
  • Select Ensemble is an auditioned 20 person group geared for the most dedicated singers willing to work independently as well as in the group setting
  • Mass Choir – Three times each year in the All System Mass as well as most Thursdays, this group provides the music for our school liturgies
Singers/performers at St. Francis are often called upon to perform in the community as well as in special parish activities like the annual St. Francis Parish Come To Christmas Festival.  These types of opportunities offer a chance to work as soloists as well as ensemble members.
