ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Traverse City St. Francis Football is one of the most successful programs in the State of Michigan, winning over 75% of games played since its inception in 1951.  Our program lays claim to two state titles in 1973 and 1974 (prior to the start of a state playoff system in 1975) along with championships in 1992, 1999, 2003, 2005, 2008 and 2009.  Additionally, St. Francis Football finished as state runners-up in 1983, 1998, 2007, and 2020.  These accomplishments are in addition to numerous regional, district and conference championships earned over the years.  All the success on the field has been accompanied by consistent All Academic rankings in the upper echelon of all schools Michigan.  The football program has sent dozens of players on to play collegiately including the all-time leading rusher at Carnegie Mellon University in Travis Sivek.  On August 25, 2020, the Gladiators recorded their 500th win with a 21-7 victory over Marquette at Thirlby Field.
