SNOW DAY INFORMATION
Because of our shared transportation, our schools are generally cancelled whenever Traverse City Public Schools are cancelled due to weather. Visit the TCAPS website or call the Bus Garage (231) 933-1955 to determine an early morning school closure, or visit our home page or Facebook page.
Parents will be notified of a GTACS “snow day” via ParentAlert, Facebook/Instagram and website.
SNOW DAY EXPECTATIONS
Immaculate Conception
- K-5th: There is no work required of our students in preschool through 5th grade on snow days.
Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton
- 6th-8th: After five snow days (on sixth day), instructors may use the snow day to ask for work to be completed via Moodle. In the anticipation of a snow day, teachers may request work to be taken home and returned for credit the next day that school is in session. Teacher discretion should be used regarding this policy in terms of what sort of work can be completed on a snow day and how much work can realistically be completed.
Saint Francis
- All Courses (other than AP): After five snow days (on the sixth day) students will be expected to complete any homework provided by their instructors. This is work that extends and continues the regular classroom lessons. On the sixth snow day, any work assigned by the instructors will be posted to Moodle or e-mail by 10am.
- AP Courses: Because of the rigid nature of the AP curriculum and the predetermined AP test schedule, AP instructors may give homework as deemed necessary starting on the 1st snow day.
